You want to enjoy your retirement. Take care of yourself.

You're retired. This is no time to die, or even allow yourself to be unhealthy. If you didn't start a long time ago, it's time to take cafe of yourself!

Here are some basic steps you can take to ensure a healthier and longer life:

• Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, fish, and low-fat or no-fat dairy. Avoid sugars and saturated and trans fats.

• Talk with your physician about taking vitamins.

• Exercise for at least 30 minutes every day—walking, yard work, and playing with your grandkids count!

• Manage stress through exercise, stretching, relaxation, breathing, or medication, if necessary.

• Visit your doctor for regular checkups.

• Check your cholesterol and screen for cancers and other diseases that can be treated with early detection.
