I don't know that there was one preeminent undergraduate major...and I don't think it really matters. If I had to guess there were probably the most folks with Political Science or History degrees. But I don't think schools care and it doesn't help you once you are in. What helps is the ability to think, analyze and analogize.

I actually think that the best majors are either philosophy or what some schools have now are pre-law degrees. But in the end do what you think you will enjoy and do the best in because the most important is showing success in your first degree in order to impress law schools. It can't hurt to join some law or political clubs in college as well. Internships in the summer are also very useful.
