I do know that exercise and eating right are essential in preventing diabetes, but getting checked regularly by a doctor will help you find any warning signs of low blood sugar or lack of vitamins and minerals. One major sign of diabetes though is extreme thirst, so be aware of this.

Stay fit and eat well. My dad does this, and has managed to stay off medication.
