If you have actually tapped out all of your resources-newspaper, networking, internet, putting up signs, and taken at least a few months and are still at square one than hiring a real estate agent is definitey worth it. Check out a few places before you close the deal with anyone though because they can fool you sometimes. Maybe ask around for some recommendations as well.

Since I'm a CPA, this time of year gets pretty hectic for me, and I didn't want to be stressed out with all the details. I just looked at houses, my real estate agent did all the tedious lifting...and boom! Buying my first house was real easy.
