How can I convince them that I am ready for a change and that I don't want to be in college with everyone from high school!?

My parents are not allowing me to go out of state? Isn't it my life and my decision??

If it is an issue of money than you have to understand their dilemma. If you are willing to take out your own loans and pay for the expense of coming home to visit then you have to somehow prove to them that you are capable of this while at the same time focusing on your schoolwork. And also do not forget that although there may be many people from high school at the college there will still be an entire population of people that are not from your area that you can hangout with. And familiar faces once in a while can really help when you are feeling nostalgic.
