I thought about a sorority, but then starting hearing bad stories about being stereotyped, I do want to feel like a belong somewhere though?
Studying in a large school and having trouble finind a way to make the school feel smaller.

You might as well go to rush and see for yourself what the people are all about. Stereotypes can be formed no matter what you do, so it doesnt really matter what people say. I think as long as you dont close yourself off from the rest of the world that isnt "greek" than you should go for it if you seem to like what they offer.

Before you join a sorority you should probably find out more about it, rather than go blindly into it just to feel a part of something. Look into the stories you've heard.
See if they're justified. Ask questions about what kinds of activities they conduct. What do you have to do to get in?
There are other ways to feel like you belong. If you're into theater, you could join a drama club. Check out the bulletin boards in the student activities area.See if you can find something that overlaps with your academic interests. The main thing is to not rush into something
just to belong. It may backfire. Give yourself some time, and try different things. Eventually, something will feel right. The feeling of not belonging can still occur within a group, if it's not the right fit.
