My teen ignores curfew
My teen won't make curfew, now matter how many times I ground her, no matter how many things I take away from her. What should I do?

This is tough. I assume you have restricted other items she wants....e.g. money, other events, etc. Perhaps you use knowledge and explain how worried you are when she stays out past curfew. There is always a trip to the jail....or a visit to a boarding school. Hang in there. Keep doing the right thing, teaching, and someday it will click with your teen.

Re: My teen ignores curfew
You can't be her friend in this. You have to be the parent - i.e., the bad guy. You know the punishment that will hurt her most - the nuclear bomb of punishments. Let it be known that you have the capability and are willing to use it. And if it comes down to it, use it. Sure, she'll hate you - now. But ultimately (years and years and years from now) she will understand and respect you.

RE: My teen ignores curfew
I personally never set a strict curfew. I tried to create an open and honest relationship with her and i found this worked better. She called me to tell me where she was and we discussed what time she should come home accordingly. I found that the fine line between mother and someone she finds comfort in worked well because in the end she wanted to tell what was going on in her life, instead of sneaking off to hide it.
