Good pictures; flattering, but realistic. Some honest description of what makes you tick (not the obvious...e.g. "I like to travel...") and hopefully some spirit and perhaps personality. It should not have warnings about what the other person should not want.

I think an attractive online profile absolutely includes the truth with a hint of cynicism mixed in. Sometimes we try to make ourselves out to be these perfect people, and although sometimes we dont want to advertise our flaws, I think it can be a turn on and a funny way to strike up a conversation with someone. Just makes the person seem more real and approachable.
