Spell Check
The day I started my career, I added spell check to my email to automatically check all e-mails I write. Never use all capitals for an e-mail either; it looks lazy. And follow the Sundown Rule: you should always respond to an e-mail the same day it is sent. If you will be out of the office that day, you should set-up your "out of office"message.

short and sweet
Keep emails short because nobody really cares. Email is not a letter so write a sentence and get to the point. If you need to mention many details, that’s what the phone or an in-person meeting is good for.

RE: Email etiquette
Don't write anything defamatory, off-color, dirty or confidential. Email can be forwarded, printed, and otherwise reach many many pairs of eyes for which it was not originally been intended. Be politic and factual.
