Do they really help spread the word or are there other ways to make people aware of a good cause?
Does anyone else have at least 2 protests a day on their campus?

RE: Do they really help spread the word or are there other ways to make people aware of a good cause?
Yes, I often wondered that too. I do think that they get people thinking about the cause at hand, but I do not think that they succeed in making any sort of difference or change in the society. People who feel passionate about certain causes feel that because America is a country where they are free to speak their minds they try to take full advantage of that right. I actually always thought petitions were a better solution and once they were signed by a large number of people they should be sent off to senators and local politicians. I guess we are in college to learn about how to make a change. I hope you can come up with some more good ideas.

My school wasn't as liberal or aware I should say so we didn't have too many. But I must say when they did come up they caused a big comotion. People were interested in learning more and we would often bring it up in our classes so that we could understand both sides of the coin. Of course there are bigger things that can be done, but college kids start small and will hopefully go on to make real changes.
