RE: Studying abroad for a semester during college
No one ever really knows if it is for them or not. But you should think about what you might want to get out of th experience, discuss it with the study abroad office at your school, and from there decide on a program. There are many programs, for instance learning and volunteer programs, language geared programs, or regular universities just like the one you are probably in right now. Speaking from experience though I believe that study abroad can never be a bad experience, because no matter what you will learn something about the world and yourself.

RE: Studying abroad for a semester during college
I seriously cannot imagine that studying abroad is not for someone. I mean it can take getting used to at first if you haven't been away from home before, but there is nothing better than to learn about a new culture, while at the same time meeting new people, and learning from teachers with completely different lenses and a completely different view of life. I was in Australia and had such an awesome time. I recommend going to the study abroad office at your school and finding out what program seems suitable for what you might be looking for.
