Orientation weekends, how important are they really?
Is it important to go to those orientations before starting freshman year. I heard some bad stories and how pointless they are?

RE: Orientation weekends, how important are they really?
Seeing any school you are thinking about attending really is important. Orientation weekend is a convenient time to do it, and the school has certainly made it easier and more comfortable for you to do so. However, if you can arrange a visit at another time during the year you may get a more representative picture. Generally schools can accomodate students at any point around orientation weekend if you ask in advance.

Orientation weekends are not essential but they do help with signing up for classes in the beginning and taking care of paper work that you might otherwise not understand. It cant hurt to meet people that you will be with for the next four years either. From my experience though, you will do just fine if you cant make it.
