City School? Rural College? Does it Matter?

Do you think that once you get on campus it really matters whether the school is in a city or in a small town. Put another way, once you are on campus are you really aware of what is going on the outside?

RE: City School? Rural College? Does it Matter?
I go to school in a small town and I would say it has a big effect. From things closing early to limited shopping to dreading going to the same restaurant yet again, I do consider having gone to school in a big city. However, going to school in a city can be distracting for many students. I think ultimately, it depends on how much time you choose to spend off campus.

RE: City School? Rural College? Does it Matter?
I go to school in a relatively small town. The good thing about it is that you can see a lot of familiar faces, get to know people easily, and feel less overwhelmed and anonymous, especially at the beginning. The thing about my school though is that there are other colleges and universities in the area which helps you to feel that you are not so far from civilization. If you do choose a small town make sure there is something attractive near it, or something that makes it unique- lets say for example good hiking.
