Will I benefit from telling colleges about my part time jobs throughout high school?

Do colleges really care about part time high school jobs?

I think that it certainly can't hurt especially if you received good grades as well. It shows that you are ready for hard work, that you are independent, and that you aren't afraid of a challenge. It might even help to throw in a recommendation from your boss.

I think that it all depends on your grades and test scores. If you did very well while working than it is certainly a plus, but if you didnt do so well they may think you spent too much of your time working and not be very impressed. Maybe if you write something in your essay about wanting to help your family by working or something along these lines it may help.

I think that overall it's a benefit to write about your part-time jobs. It shows that you are a well-rounded person that didn't spend all his/her time studying and that you have the initiative to make your own money in order to get what you want. I think that's appealing to a college to see an independent person rather than someone who has never held a job before.

I think that it is important to talk about part-time jobs. It shows colleges that you can manage school and work, and that you (probably) were diligent and responsible enough to be hired and please your bosses for an extended period of time. Further, anything that helps colleges how you made a responsible use of your time is beneficial.
