1. Immediately send back the form you are offered indicating that you want to remain on the wait-list. 2. Contact the AO responsible for your application to tell him that the school is your top choice and that you would definitely come if admitted. Good luck!

RE:
Write a letter indicating that it is you first choice, ask if you can re-submit your resume, etc. (sometimes a cleaned-up, more in-depth version is more effective), and communicate with your area representative, asking them if they can contact the school on your behalf.

I'd suggest also asking your guidance counselor to call the office to help show that you are serious.

Just keep in mind: Don't Become a pain. E-mailing or calling daily may look like a good plan, but attacking the AO and sending in extra information every day can become annoying and cause the AO to dislike you instead of wanting to be your advocate. Send letters and make phone calls, but be judicious.

I applied for early decision. I got deferred, and then I applied to seven other schools. I eventually made my first choice: Brown. After the application was deferred, I applied by regular admission. I wrote the admissions office a letter saying Brown was still my first choice. I think that follow-up letter was really important. I had done some interesting things since I had first applied to school. I also had more grades. Anything you can do to help yourself stand out is good. I hope this was helpful. Good luck!
